Show English abstract

Aspects of the invention relate to a control system (60) for determining that a vehicle (200) is in a trapped condition. The vehicle (200) has a first axle (A1, A2) and a second axle (A1, A2). The control system (60) has one or more controllers (63). The control system (60) is configured to receive a longitudinal speed signal (SVS) indicative of a longitudinal speed of the vehicle (200). The control system (60) receives one or more first wheel speed signals (71 a-d) indicative of a wheel speed of a wheel (W1-4) on a first axle (A1, A2) and one or more second wheel speed signals (71 a-d) indicative of a wheel speed of a wheel (W1-4) on a second axle (A1, A2). The control system (60) is configured to determine that the vehicle (200) is in a trapped condition based on a determination that each of the conditions is satisfied that a longitudinal speed of the vehicle (200) is at least substantially equal to zero, a wheel speed of at least one of the one or more wheels (W1-4) on the first axle (A1, A2) or a first sum (S1) of wheel speeds of the wheels (W1-4) on the first axle (A1, A2) is less than or equal to a first threshold, and a second sum (S2) of wheel speeds of at least one of the one or more wheels (W1-4) on the second axle (A1, A2) is greater than a second threshold. The control system (60) is configured to output a vehicle trapped signal (61 a) based on a determination that the vehicle (200) is in a trapped condition. Aspects of the invention also relate to a vehicle (200), a system (1), a method (500), computer-readable instructions, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium for determining that a vehicle (200) is in a trapped condition.
