The invention relates to a pressure damping device (10) of a vehicle brake system, comprising a first space (20) to which hydraulic pressure can be applied, and a second space (24) which is enclosed by a damper housing (14) and in which a compressible medium is present, and a separating element (22) for separating the first space (20) from the second space (24). In this case, a support element (44) is provided which is annular with respect to the longitudinal axis (48) and by means of which the separating element (22) is pressed against the damper housing (14) obliquely, radially outwards with respect to the longitudinal axis (48) and axially in the direction of the second space (24).
